No “Bush Recession”
Not only has the current economic picture been improving, it looks like things may not have been as bad as we thought in the first place.
Not only was the U.S. recession in 2001 the shallowest on record, it may not have been one at all — at least in the classic sense of two straight quarterly declines, new government data show.

From a personal point of view; our family and several of our friends and my husbands associates had greater economic difficulties under Bush than Clinton. Economics is not one of my strong points, and I realize that anecdotal evidence is not the best to give, however, that has been our experience.

Our family has also had greater economic difficulties while President Bush has been in office. However, it was the policies of the previous administration which allowed the economy to dip in early 2000 (prior to Bush’s election). Our country has also suffered through a devastating terrorist attack during Bush’s tenure. This, of course, led to even more economic woe.
The policies of the Bush Administration have kept us from suffering an even worse economy. The President has steered us skillfully through this storm.

Like I said, I am not an economic scholar, so I’m not really good at analyzing that data. However, I do agree (and I’ve been a life long democrat) that Bush got us throught the 9/11 crisis and beyond. I’ll believe you on the rest
