Take things away from you on behalf of the common good
Hillary Clinton sums up the philosophy of Democrats very nicely in her recent speech in San Francisco:
“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
As the philosopher Brandeis said, “Experience teaches us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficent.” Watch out for Democratic politicians bearing gifts, because they expect you to pay for them.
